Cebu City Streets: Children's new playground

In this photo, I took a shot of these street children while I am in a passenger jeep.
I have been travelling the streets of Cebu, from downtown Colon street to uptown Gorordo Ave., from the sloppy Mango Ave. to the busy Osmena Boulevard and anywhere else; you will notice that there are lots of children. These children did not came from school but are those children that are homeless and abandoned; they are known to be the street children.

In big cities, beggars, peasants, and street children are common problems of the local government. Usually they knock on your car window and ask for food but preferably money; some scavenge for food in garbage bins or finding something to sell recyclable items in the junk shop to earn money.

My concern is, if they cause problem then why let them in the streets; why would they be in social care where the government has; and why those children are in the streets instead in the school to learn. We have the means to help these children but we mean NOT to.

Cebu's great buys: Souvenirs and all

Where to find the newest, cutest and cheapest souvenirs whenever you visit Cebu? It is not in Colon St., Carbon Market or even in the malls but in this souvenir shop behind the Sto. NiƱo Basilica. I don't have any idea that it really exists nor even know the name of this shop but they really have the best bargains in the city. From the favorite souvenir shirts, bags, and accessories to the famous Cebu guitars, shell chimes, sarong and cute keychains are all here.

Other souvenir shops cost doubled the price and sometimes you force to forget other people from having your souvenirs from Cebu because you tend to limit the number of pieces since its too expensive. Here you will spend just enough of your budget with tons to bring at home.

Imagine most shops offer you a deal of 3 pieces of keychains for Php100.00 while you can have each keychain for only Php10.00. Bags from Php300 - 500.00 each while you can have here from a starting price of Php100 - 200.00.

The best deal is you can bargain your total cost for a lesser price.
